I have been a fishing fanatic for over 40 years. I have been fishing So Cal and Baja for 35 years and running charters for 26 years out of San Diego. I have always had the goal of improving on the experiences I had in my childhood of fishing on the cattle boats. The idea came to me in 1983 when there was and extremely strong "El Nino" which enabled the local half day boats to get Albacore limits and Big Eye Tuna averaging 125 pounds. I was 12 on cheap rental gear and still kicking some Tuna ass until I hooked the Big Eye and nearly got spooled on the 25# line Penn 500 combo. I stopped the fish but the deckhand came and grabbed my rod, tightened the drag and snapped off my fish. He handed me back my rod and said "that was one nice Big Eye"... I decided then that I would do this better by running open party trips on smaller boats which turned out the be 4 and 6-pack vessels. It was the only way to eliminate the chaos and lack of attention from the crew, particularly for the less experienced or aggressive anglers during a wide open bite. That is exactly what we have done. Our boats are 24', 34' 42' and 50' which enable us to accommodate various types of fishing and price ranges.
